The Super Eagles of Nigeria has been ranked as the 43rd best national team in the current FIFA rankings.
The rankings, which were made public on Thursday, showed that the Super Eagles had risen one spot from 44th.
During the reviewed time, the senior national team won twice and drew twice, giving Eric Chelle’s squad enough points to advance.
However, among the continent’s dominant nations, Nigeria fell one slot, moving from fifth to sixth place.
Ivory Coast, who moved up five spots to become the 41st best country in the world, upset the AFCON 2023 finalists.

Nigeria has not performed well in the 2026 World Cup qualifying series thus far. With seven points from six games, including a disappointing 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe, the Eagles are currently in fourth place.
Unbeaten Ivory Coast sit at the top of Group F with 14 points and have yet to surrender a goal.
Morocco is the highest-ranked nation in Africa while Senegal, Egypt, Algeria and Ivory Coast claim the other top five spots.
Argentina retained its position as the first-ranked nation globally, while Spain moved into second ahead of France, which dropped to third.

Myanmar are the highest climbers in the latest rankings, moving up seven places to 162nd, while Guinea-Bissau dropped eight places- the highest- to 128th on the back of four straight losses.
The next FIFA world rankings will be released on July 10.
