On allegations of fraud and diversion of funds amounting to N1.7 billion naira by the Ministry of Women Affairs under the watch of Hon. Pauline Tallen, a Civil Society group is calling on Nigerians to join in a protest slated for Tuesday 31, May, 2022 at the Ministry’s Head Office.
A statement by George Uboh Whistleblowers Network (GUWN), signed by Dr. George Uboh, stressed that the civil society would not fold its arms to watch the blatant abuse and mismanagement of public funds.
According to the statement, a letter has been sent to the honorable minister to react appropriately to the details presented before her.
The group while commending the Federal Government’s resolve to crack down on organized crime and wanton looting of government treasury by public officials said this case was one too many that Nigerians could not afford to turn deaf ears to.
Citing the recent suspension and investigation of the Accountant General of the Federation, Mr Ahmed Idris, the group emphasized the need for anticorruption and security agencies across the country to give critical attention to the allegations.
