Some aggrieved group from Toto local government have called on the leadership of the state All Progressive Congress, APC to nullify the just concluded council poll over imposition of candidate.
The group led by the campaign coordinator of one of the aggrieved aspirant, Hon. Zakari Shuaibu, Alhaji Suleiman Zubairu (big boss) alleged that the speaker of the state Assembly, Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi and two others allegedly imposed their preferred candidate against the popular wish of the people of Toto local government.
However, the state Acting Chairman of the APC Dr. John Mamman while reacting to the allegation by the aggrieved parties on Tuesday, stated that “It was the stakeholders from Toto/Umasha that met and agreed that the chairmanship position for the party should be zoned to Gadabuike development Area, Toto north”.
”The decision was agreed unanimously by the stakeholders in Toto because since inception Gadabuike has not been given the opportunity like Toto and Umasha to produce the chairman”, Mamman said.
The Acting chairman exonerated the Speaker, Nasarawa state house of Assembly, member representing Toto/Gadabuike, Labaran Usman Shafa and the Commissioner of health, from allegation of imposition of candidates during chairmanship and ward Congress election in Toto local government Area of the state.
Meanwhile the acting chairman said he has not received any complaint from Toto local government in that regard.
He noted that Toto local government was one of the local governments in the state that agreed on consensus where a chairmanship candidate and Ward officials were chosen and agreed upon by all the stakeholders in the local government.
Mamman therefore appealed to all aggrieved persons to forward their complaints to the appropriate channels for action and not create any acrimony after a peaceful decision by stakeholder.
