Thousands of supporters have flocked to the Cenotaph in Asaba, Delta State as Governor Sheriff Oborevwori formally defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Top national and state political office holders, along with party officials, are already seated at the venue, awaiting the arrival of Vice President Kashim Shettima, who is expected to grace the occasion.
The atmosphere in and around the Cenotaph is electric, as loyalists of the governor, poised to decamp from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC, chant slogans such as “We are all BATified and Sherrified” and “Anywhere Sheriff goes, we follow.”

Meanwhile, local traders are cashing in on the political event, recording brisk sales of APC-branded merchandise, including bangles, hats, mufflers, shirts, flags, and stickers along the road leading to the Cenotaph.
