Critical stakeholders and chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) from the north central region have said it time for presidency to emerge from the region after supporting other regions to enjoy presidency in the past.
The group led by Professor Iyausuese Hagher made this known on Monday while addressing party members and delegation from across the zone at the Nasarawa state party secretariat in Lafia.
Iyausuases noted that the north central zone as a string which holds the country together in difficult and time since Independence has supported other zones to produce presidents in the past.
“The nation right now is so divided and fragmented, we need a uniting force which the north central is known for to emerge and reunite the country again.
“Bukola Saraki is that young breed with wealth of experience at every cadre of governance to restore Nigeria to where we belong.
“We do not need an old man as President who will be travelling every moment for treatment and spending the country’s resources abroad”, Iyausuese said.
He appeal to other zones who enjoyed the support of the north central to produce presidency in the past to bend over this time around.
In his good will message, the north central PDP chairman, honorable Theophilus Dakarshan also noted that the north central has been instrumental to the emergence of Presidents right from the first republic.
“The north central zone had in the past given its unflinching support to other zones, we appeal to other zone to reciprocate that gesture to the north central zone”, Theophilus said.
Senator Solomon Ewuga also appealed for the party to consider the north central zone because the PDP was given birth through the idea and efforts of late chief Solomon Lar from the zone.
Chief Kawo Baraje called on the party to consider senator Bukola Saraki as the competent presidential candidate for 2023 to salvage the country from total collapse.
