The bye-election for the Kafin Hausa state constituency of Jigawa State has kicked off this morning as announced by the the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
According to INEC, the vacancy arose as a result of the death of Hon. Adamu Baban-Bare, a member who represented Kafin Hausa state constituency and the subsequent declaration of vacancy for the constituency by the Speaker of the state House of Assembly.
The commission had announced that the Kafin Hausa constituency bye-election would take place on March 6, 2021.
Meanwhile, election for the 25 local government councils’ chairmen and councilors has taken off in Delta State.
The election conducted by the Delta State Independent Electoral Commission is slated to take off today with accreditation and voting to hold simultaneously.
On security the Delta state police command last week said it deployed 8292 policemen for the forthcoming local government election scheduled for March 6, 2021to cover the 25 local government council area of the state.
