Following the return of Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru to the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has confidently predicted a second-term victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
Keyamo made this bold statement on Sunday in Ughelli, Delta State, during a grand reception marking the return of Ogboru and stressing that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will lose power in Delta State.
Chief Great Ogboru, a well-known politician in Delta State, had earlier left the APC to run for governor in 2023 under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA). His return to the ruling party, however, is now viewed as a calculated step to fortify and unite the APC in Delta State.
Describing Ogboru as “a great leader with massive grassroots support,” Keyamo commended his political resilience, stating that Ogboru has maintained his strong political base “even without Federal power.”
Speaking to party supporters, Keyamo stressed that the PDP’s hegemony in Delta State will soon end and blamed internal party strife and the exit of important players for the APC’s 2023 electoral defeat.
“The PDP will fall in Delta in the next political dispensation,” Keyamo declared.
According to him, President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 is already secured, as efforts to strengthen the party structure nationwide, particularly in Delta, are yielding positive results.
“In 2023, we lost because many stakeholders left APC in anger. But now, with the Olorogun Otega Emerhor-led reconciliation committee working effectively alongside the college of leaders, we are restoring unity to Delta APC,” he stated.

Keyamo urged all Delta State APC stakeholders to keep supporting the College of Leaders in its efforts to reshape and strengthen the party in preparation for the next elections.
“APC belongs to all of us. It is not a one-man party. There is no sole leadership in Delta APC; we have collective leadership.
“The Presidential mandate has already been given to further reconcile the party in Delta,” he emphasized.
Ogboru commended the party’s leaders and members for their kind welcome and said his return to the APC was a big step in creating a more cohesive and powerful party in Delta State.
“Today is a wonderful day,” Ogboru said. “I appreciate everyone who has welcomed me back home.”
Acknowledging the leadership of Olorogun Keyamo, Ogboru reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the APC and ensuring its victory in Delta.
“This house was built by us all, and now we are making it even stronger, bigger, and better. When we stand united, divine blessings will follow,” he said.
He further expressed confidence in APC’s ability to take over Delta State, emphasizing that the party’s mission is to transform the lives of the people for the better.

“After all, a better life and good fortunes are the hallmarks of democracy. Thank you, Mr. President. On your mandate, we stand!” he declared.
The event was graced by top APC stakeholders which include: Delta APC Chairman, Chief Omeni Sobotie, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, Hon. Francis Waive (representing Ughelli North, South, and Udu Federal Constituency), Former APC Women Leader, Hon. Stella Okotete, Representatives of Senator Ede Dafinone, former Governor James Ibori, and Elder Godsday Orubebe.
With Ogboru’s return and the ongoing reconciliation efforts, the APC is gearing up for a stronger and more competitive showing in future elections, aiming to end PDP’s long-standing dominance in Delta State politics.
