Ahead of the 2023 General Elections, a grassroots’ youths mobiliser and supporter of Peter Obi’s presidential bid, Comrade Josiah Omenuwoma, has rejected a political appointment offered by the Delta State Governor and Vice Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Omenuwoma, an indigene of Oleh in Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, was offered a letter of appointment as Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Youth Mobilisation on July 22, 2022, with reference Number SGD/399/T68/1882.
While chants of congratulation were renting the air, the University of Benin Graduate, Comrade Josiah Omenuwoma has written a letter of rejection to the office of the Secretary to Delta State Government.
As contained in the rejection letter dated, August 2nd, 2022, Omenuwoma said, “I choose to be OBIDIENT and I have decided to remain actively OBIDIENT because I strongly believe that Nigeria will be better if Mr Peter Obi is President by 2023.”
In his Facebook post he said, “I sincerely wish to thank Is Excellency Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to have graciously offered me the opportunity to serve and I most grateful to my Caring Big Brother/Friend, Distinguished Leader, My great Supporter and Father to have recommend me, influenced and facilitated the appointment, “Big Bros you don too show me love wen I no fit forget” It’s unfortunate the letter came at this time that I have actively engaged and Committed myself to the OBIDIENT Movement.”
“I wish to also appreciate all those that supported me, those that criticized me (Constructively or destructively), those that were proud of me and those that were disappointed.
“Going forward, let’s respect each other decision and choice as we work towards a better Nigeria, let’s put the general interest of Nigerians first because the overall welfare and security of Nigerians is more important.” He stressed.
