A former presidential aspirant, Barr. Enyinnaya Nnaemeka Nwosu has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign as governors have passed a vote of no confidence on him, his police and military.
Nwosu, in a statement made available to The Union Nigeria, stated that the regional security outfits set up in South West and South East Nigeria, are testament that the governors no longer trust the presidency in terms of security.
“It has become crystal clear that a vote of no confidence has been passed on the Buhari administration by the governors of South West and South East Nigeria.
“The two regions have set up regional security Amotekun and Ebube-Agu outfit parallel to the police and army. What more can be a vote of no confidence?
He said, “Constitutionally, the people give up their right to protect their lives and property to the federal government who is expected to protect lives and property through police, Military and paramilitary.
“When the government fails in her duty of protection of lives and property, the people will naturally withdraw that authority give to the federal government. The people then begin to protect themselves. (A failed state)
“The federal government has by her actions and inaction encouraged and escalated the insecurity in the country. Nobody is save anywhere anymore.
“The police and military kill civilians every day, the civilian now see the Nigerian police and military as their enemy and even kill them when they have the opportunity.
Nwosu decried the spate of insecurity in Nigeria, particularly in the northern part of Nigeria.
“Boko Haram runs a parallel government and economy in the north, the herdsmen /bandits are killing and terrorizing all parts of the country and the government has bluntly refused to do anything about it or bring anybody to book.

“If I were the president, this is the time to resign and walk away. If you look at the situation, it’s very easy to see that either the government of president Buhari is compromised or lacks capacity to act. However one decides to look at it, the government has failed.
“The other day a sitting governor on a national television said the government was printing money and allocating to the states. The inflation is very high.
“A government that cannot maintain the economy and provide security has failed. The country is boiling at every end. So much mistrust amongst the tribes and regions.
“Unfortunately the president is not in the country. He is in London to visit his doctor and hospital for his illness.” Nwosu added.
