A sum of N250 million ransom has been demanded by the abductors of Retired General Maharazu Tsiga, the former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, to secure his release.
The Intercept reported that more than 100 gunmen invaded Gen. Tsiga’s home in Katsina State on Wednesday night, after which he was abducted.

The general came out to ask the assailants what they were searching for after they had surrounded the home and started breaking doors, according to Abdullahi Balarabe Dabai, a member representing the Bakori/Danja federal seat in Katsina State.

Security operatives had launched a manhunt for his release from the captivity of the assailants.
A source close to the family who preferred anonymity, told Daily Trust on Friday that the family was contacted and N250 million was requested.
