The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency, NOA Lanre Issa-Onilu, has urged Nigerian Muslims to pray for peace, unity and national progress in the month of Ramadan.
Onilu made the call in a statement issued on Saturday by the agency’s Deputy Director, Media and Communication, Paul Odenyi.
Following Islamic beliefs and principles, he urged Muslims to spend the month of Ramadan for introspection, heightened devotion, and charitable deeds.

Issa-Onilu made the charge as part of his 2025 Ramadan address to the nation, saying, “Regardless of one’s political or religious affiliation, all citizens must pray for peace and unity for the country’s development.”
“All Muslims should renew their commitment to Allah and embrace the spiritual opportunities that Ramadan signifies.

“This no doubt is a sacred period of reflection for self-renewal and the way to move humanity forward. As an Agency, we will continue to work for the greatness of our country.”
The DG urged everyone to continue praying for the current government and the advancement of our nation throughout the month of Ramadan.
