Sir Similanayi Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers State, has departed Government House in Port Harcourt.
The governor left on Wednesday morning, according to sources who spoke to journalists.
In a similar vein, Admiral Ekwe Ibas (rtd), the recently appointed sole administrator of the state, is currently getting ready to return to duty.
When our reporter went to Government House on Wednesday morning, he or she saw that it was quiet. There were at least three armoured personnel carriers positioned at the Government House’s front entrance.
According to a security source, all of the Government House’s security staff have been taken out and replaced, indicating a change of guard at the seat of power.

“The governor left Government House this morning and the new administrator is yet to resume. We are expecting him any moment from now. The security details in Government House have been reshuffled. I can tell you that everywhere is calm and nothing is happening as we speak now.”
