Rivers State Police Command officers used tear gas on demonstrators Monday morning in the state capital.
When the police arrived, the demonstrators had gathered at Isaac Boro Park.
The Take It Back Movement organised the demonstration in response to Rivers State’s declaration of emergency.

When the group’s members arrived at the protest site as early as 9:00 am, they were met by a significant police presence.
