“For the 30 local government areas of Osun state, the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) cleared all the seats.”
Abioye alleged that earlier today, police officers barricaded the commission’s headquarters, making it impossible for reporters to obtain the accreditation tags and jackets they would need to cover the poll.
He said OSSIEC officials were detained alongside voting materials on their way to polling units.
Due to the high probability of violence and security risks, the police had demanded that the LG poll be postponed.
The police spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, stated on Friday that “credible intelligence” indicates that there are some who intend to disturb the peace in Osun state.
