The Local Government Inspector of the National Youth Service Corps in Lagos State, absconded after inviting Corps member Ushie Rita Uguamaye, also known as Raye, over her recent complaints, says Omoyele Sowore.
According to The Intercept, Raye has gained widespread attention for her criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
In a video that was uploaded over the weekend to her TikTok account #talktoraye, Raye expressed her annoyance at Nigeria’s worsening economic circumstances and blamed President Tinubu for the difficulties.
The corps member also described the president as a “terrible leader.”
The corps member was heard saying in another social media video clip that she was being threatened by NYSC officials. Raye was called to appear in her Local Government Inspector’s (LGI) office on Monday for interrogation, but she was accompanied there by Sowore and a few lawyers.

Speaking with The Intercept, Sowore said, “We accompanied Raye with some attorneys to the LGI but the officials absconded, they went into hiding.”
Also giving an update on his X handle, Sowore wrote: “We arrived at the Eti-Osa LGI offices of the National Youth Service Corps with youth Corper, Ushie Rita Uguamaye in Lagos.

“She was scheduled to appear before the LGI today and we escorted her to their offices with attorneys, Festus Ogun, Adeyinka Oyesomi and Ojienoh Justice but LGI officials had absconded failing to show up throughout our stay.
“We will be back! #RevolutionNow #tinubuisaterriblepresident.”
