A Niger Delta-based development group, the Niger Delta Development Agenda (NDDA), has commended Senator Joel Thomas Onowakpo, FCA, for his outstanding contributions to leadership and development in the region as he marks his 58th birthday.
In a congratulatory statement issued in Abuja, the group’s Convener, Comrade Iteveh Nur’ Ekpokpobe, described the Senator representing Delta South as a “quintessential statesman” who has redefined leadership with a strong commitment to the growth and progress of the Niger Delta.
Highlighting Senator Onowakpo’s achievements, Iteveh noted that the lawmaker, who chairs the Senate Committee on Local Content, has triggered “a chain of positive developments” across the region through his leadership style.

“Onowakpo is a seasoned finance technocrat and accomplished politician who, through hard work and dedication, has carved a niche for excellence,” Iteveh stated.

The NDDA also praised Senator Onowakpo’s legislative contributions, citing the quality of bills and projects he has attracted to the Delta South Senatorial District and the broader Niger Delta.
“Senator Onowakpo has exhibited a rare spirit of interethnic cohesion, effectively managing the cultural diversity of Delta South. As we celebrate his birthday, we call on constituents to continue supporting him to achieve even greater milestones,” the statement added.
