A pastor named Elijah has been detained by the Rivers State Police Command on suspicion of homosexuality.
According to reports, Elijah was the General Overseer of a new-generation church in Port Harcourt when a leaked video appeared online, exposing him in a precarious position.
Sources updated The Intercept that the pastor’s issues began when a male acquaintance, to whom he was reportedly making overtures, covertly videotaped their encounter and then published the clip.

A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “We don’t know how the Octopus Strike Force of the Rivers State Police Command got hold of the video, but they began tracking the pastor. Eventually, acting on credible intelligence, officers trailed him to one of his regular hangouts and arrested him.”
The cleric allegedly confessed to engaging in similar activities with adults and children both inside and outside of Port Harcourt during interrogation, according to information obtained.

When contacted, Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the arrest and said the suspect had been arraigned in court.
“Yes, I can confirm the pastor’s arrest. He is in custody, and investigations are ongoing. In fact, he has already been charged to court,” Iringe-Koko, a Superintendent of Police, said.
