A multi-story structure on Oremeta Street collapsed Saturday morning, causing tragedy in the Ojodu-Berger neighbourhood of Lagos State.
Several people were thought to be trapped beneath the debris.
The structure, which is allegedly still under construction, also housed the well-known EqualRight Restaurant, which is a well-known destination for locals and tourists.
According to witnesses, the event happened at around 8:00 am and caught both residents and onlookers off guard.
As rescue efforts continue at the scene, the precise number of casualties is yet unknown.
Rescue operations were being carried out by security forces, firefighters, and representatives of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA).
