The Ringim local government council legislators have announced the impeachment of the local government council chairman, Alhaji Shehu Sule Udi.
This was contained in a notification letter sent to the local council chairman copy of which was made available to our correspondent in the state.
The impeachment letter was signed by eight out of ten councillors in the local government council.
They had accused the embattled council boss of “lack of inclusion in the awards of contracts, payment, illegal renting of local government council’s lands and farm lands and the sale of 75 corner shops at Ringim market”.
The eight councilors also accused Alhaji Udi of “Cash withdrawal without due process, refusal to honour council members’ invitations and embezzlement of N57m relief fund received by the local council”.
According to the letter “By virtue of our position and power conferred upon us by the relevant provisions of JIgawa state local government law and 1999 constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria (as amended) we do hereby resolve to remove you immediately from office as chairman of Ringim local government council”.
