Kano State fire Service has disclosed that 134 persons lost their lives to fire disasters in 2020 in the state.
Briefing Journalists, the Kano State Fire Service Public Relation Officer Saidu Muhammad Ibrahim explained that fire also destroyed property worth over 634 million naira in Kano State last year.
The public relations officer maintained that the service in last year saved properties worth over 2 billion naira.
He said the service in the state saved 1,077 lives from fire outbreaks in the state under review.
Saidu said Annual Fire and Rescue Statistics of the year 2020 also revealed that the service received 786 fire calls from different part of the state.
He also said the record indicated that the service received 693 false calls in last year under review.
Saidu Muhammad, advised the public to adhere to fire safety and prevention measures.
The PRO urged motorist to abide by Traffic laws to avoid Road Crashes.
He called on parents to monitor the movement of their ward by not allowing them get access to Rivers, Pond or open wells.
