The disciplinary hearing against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, has been postponed by the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions.
According to The Intercept, the legislator from Kogi Central and Senate President Godswill Akpabio argued on February 20 about seat distribution.
Despite being overruled, Akpoti-Ugudgahn repeatedly raised a point of order and refused to take the seat that was allotted to her.

Yemi Adaramodu, the senator for the Ekiti South Senatorial District, brought up a point of order during plenary, claiming that the episode had damaged the Senate’s reputation.
The Senate requested that the Ethics Committee investigate the matter and provide a report to the Red Chamber after the development, and it sent Akpoti-Uduaghan to the committee for disciplinary investigation.
The committee set Thursday, March 6, as the date of the session in accordance with the instruction.
However, Christian Onwusonye, the Committee Clerk, notified Akpoti-Uduaghan of a rescheduled public hearing to address the issue in a letter dated Wednesday, March 5.
According to the letter (NASS/S/10/EPP/DSNAU/2), the hearing will be held in Meeting Room 120 of the National Assembly’s New Senate Building in Abuja.
Additionally, it stressed that the prior invitation’s contents were not rendered void by the rescheduling.

“Please, Distinguished, the rescheduling of the date of the Public Hearing does not invalidate the other contents of the letter earlier sent to you on the same matter as above.
“The Committee regrets any inconvenience the sudden change of date may have caused.
“Accept the assurances of the Committee’s highest esteem, please,” the letter added
