The rulings of the Federal High Court and Court of Appeal, which dismissed Senator Samuel Anyanwu as the PDP’s national secretary, have been overturned by the Supreme Court.
According to information obtained by The Intercept, a five-member panel of the highest court ruled on Friday that the PDP’s national secretary dispute crosses the line into a political party’s internal affairs, which is not subject to the rule of law.
The Supreme Court’s lead judge, Justice Jamilu Tukur, subsequently overturned the trial court’s October ruling from last year and overturned the Court of Appeal’s majority ruling, which had upheld Anyanwu’s dismissal as PDP National Secretary in December.

The appeal court’s minority judgment, issued by Justice Ekanem, which had declared the trial court’s decision invalid due to lack of jurisdiction, was later upheld by Justice Tukur.
Furthermore, the Supreme Court ruled that Aniagu Emmanuel, the plaintiff who filed the lawsuit in the trial court, lacked the required legal support since he failed to demonstrate how his actions were impacted by the PDP’s National Secretary.
