Sagiru was found guilty by the court of killing his sister Munawara by strangulation with a scarf and stabbing his stepmother Rabiatu Sagir.
Justice Amina Adamu-Aliyu said in her Tuesday’s ruling that the prosecution had shown its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
As a result, Adamu-Aliyu gave the prisoner a hanging death sentence.

Before this, the prosecution’s attorney, Mr. Lamido Abba-Sorondinki, told the court that the offender had committed the crime in Rijiyar Zaki Quarters in Kano on January 7, 2023.
