Sokoto State Female Education Board has commenced the verification exercise of teachers of twenty Female Schools under it.
The Special Adviser of the Board, Aisha Musa Maina who led the Verification team to Nana Girls Secondary School, Monday, said the exercise was sequel to the directive of the state governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal.
This she said, was to ensure that all teachers of basic and secondary schools have basic teaching requirements in order to have quality education in Sokoto state.
The special adviser who was however represented by the Director General of the Board, said, the verification was to ensure that all teachers of basic and secondary schools have basic teaching requirements in order to ensure quality education in Sokoto state.
she said any teacher who does not possess basic teaching requirement would be mandated to enroll in post graduate diploma, distance learning of National Open University of Nigeria or Teachers Registration council of Nigeria so as to obtain basic teaching rudiments.
The special adviser said the motive was to ensure only qualified teachers handle academic activities in schools in the state.
