As the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) was formally closed by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), 2,030,627 students have successfully enrolled.
A total of 2,030,627 applicants completed the registration procedure, which started on February 3, 2025, enabling them to take part in the UTME on April 25, 2025.
Candidates who registered to take the test at overseas locations are not included in this figure.

On April 5, 2025, 200,115 applicants also indicated interest in taking the optional mock UTME. 630 of these applicants have signed up for the trial mock exam, which is scheduled for the same day.
The board said in its weekly bulletin on Monday that the UTME registration was now closed and that the yearly exam preparations were now underway.

It reads: “This year, the Board has implemented several innovative measures to deter cheating and maintain the integrity of the examination process.
“These measures have already led to multiple arrests of candidates attempting to use forged A-level results for admission, highlighting the effectiveness of the new system designed to detect such fraud
“Candidates are strongly advised to adhere to the examination rules and regulations and refrain from any dishonest practices during the examination.”
