The President General of Isoko nationality, Prof. Chris Akpotu, has described Hon. Thomas Joel Onowoakpo, the APC Senatorial Candidate as a man with good behavioural template, and a huge generational psycho-social asset who is always driven by a ruling and unbroken passion to better Isoko nation.
He made the assertion on Sunday at Yenagoa, while speaking to the cheering crowd of Isoko Development Union, Bayelsa chapter, saying that only a man with long term vision or futuristic master plan of development for his people that can voluntarily sail in the academic direction for children. He has always demonstrated value and provided a platform for academic impact for our people.
Akpotu said, discreet investigation carried out on the novel human capital development of Isoko cum Delta indigents students has proved that Hon. Thomas Joel Onowoakpo, had being in the business of Jamb students sponsorship spanning 11 years, both in the Isoko South and North, thereby helping the less privileged or poor/suffering students from poor families.
“The youth is the most influential generation of the century. They are the leaders of tomorrow. If Joel Onowoakpo’s intent and precision is to shapen the destiny of students/youths, separate them from anticipated social violence, it means, his responsibility is powerful and indelible. Continuing, he said, without education leadership is likened to Chelsea club playing at a football field without a goal-post, noting that education is the bedrock of every nation, therefore, any mortal, without external compulsive influence, sponsoring students in several education frontiers willingly is worthy of commendation and patronage if he seek any political office.
“It is interesting to note that the overwhelming preponderance of a generous veteran, called Hon. Joel Onowoakpo, cut across primodial borders of party affiliation. In essence, both the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) students/youths have graciously benefited from the colossal philanthropic lifestyle of the APC Isoko Senatorial Candidate. He posited that Joel-Onowoakpo, 11 years ago was never pregnant with the Delta South Senatorial ambition, yet committed to the betterment of Isoko students, affirming that the wheel of progress is not static, to that end, Isoko people will reciprocate the wonderful feat by giving block votes to him.
According to the Professor of Management Sciences, a man who had salvaged parents from the excruciating financial hardship via students Jamb sponsorship and University scholarship deserves a support. A man who has given thousands of students admission and pay their fees till date and still counting needs support. Practically, this ethnic sustained feat, about to manifest in the entire Senatorial district cannot be wished away by sentiments and wicked conspiracy of men, Akpotu said.
In another development, Prof. Akpotu referenced the wrong information being speculated by a few that Isoko had produced 2 Senators since the inception of democracy. It is not true. Senator Francis Spanner Okpozo that is been mentioned was a third republic Senator that never stayed 365 days in office. From the 1999 transition to democracy, it is important to know that only Senator Stella Omu, had represented Isoko nation for a single term, meanwhile the Ijaw is taking 20years and Itsekiri 8 years which was occupied by Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, the immediate past Governor. Onowoakpo is an experienced politician, with the required capacity to give quality representation, adding that, it would amount to political oppression and injustice to deny Isoko this golden opportunity. He therefore called on all Isoko sons and daughters, as well as Delta South people to vote massively for APC Senatorial candidates in the general elections.
“Conclusively, let the students speak up. Let men of good conscience profess that we need people of irrefutable proofs at the red Chambers, stressing that mediocrity is not a replacement for excellence. The Senatorial vision is all-inclusive. This is a project for Isoko youths, students, men and women, including the beneficiaries of Onowoakpo free Jamb lectures. All beneficiaries must as a matter of reciprocity, contact their parents, friends and relatives to canvas support and patronage for their sponsor and Isoko Candidate. Even the Jamb hopefuls and University students already on scholarship should mop up support for Onowoakpo. At the moment, the “old order” of voting party is old-fashioned. Voters attention is now on Candidates because the political nonsense must stop. We must clearly dissociate and separate mediocrity from full capacity, on the account that power is transient, but legacy is enduring, he added.
Prof. Akpotu maintained that in clear comparison amongst the Senatorial Candidates across parties, none has the unbeatable educational template of Onowoakpo. “Onowoakpo has evidence of good track record. HE ASSURED ISOKO PEOPLE AND BY EXTENSION, DELTA SOUTH SENATORIAL DISTRICT THAT, THE CANDIDATE AND INCOMING SENATOR OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA, by GOD’S GRACE Hon. Thomas Joel Onowoakpo, if elected will collaborate with others to midwife a comprehensive constitutional framework that will enhance the social-economic viability of our people, for the reason that no ethnic group can thrive without solid educational architecture,” he concluded.
