Operatives in Anambra State Police Command have arrested one Miss Chinwendu Umegbaka, 29years, a native of Isinkwo Abaomege in Onicha LGA of Ebonyi State on alleged case of Child stealing at Nwawulu Street, Okpoko, Onitsha.
A release made available to The Union Nigeria in Awka by DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, PPRO Anamabra State Police Command reveals that the suspect is a neighbor to the parent of the child.
Chinwendu initially denied knowing the whereabouts of the three year old girl.
But further interrogation by the police made her to confess to stealing the child with the intention of selling her.
The child has been recovered and handed over to the parents.
Meanwhile, the Anambra Police Command has also arrested one Mrs Onwanna Nnenna, aged 29yrs old from Nando, Anambra East local government in a case of attempted murder that took place at Otu Street, Awada Onitsha.
Preliminary information made available to The Union Nigeria shows that the victim, one Miss Ijeoma Nwafor, 14 years old, native of Achalla was pushed down from a four storey building by the suspect, when she was beating her.
Other details reveal that the victim is a house help to the suspect.
Meanwhile, Mrs Nnenna is currently in Police custody and the victim, receiving treatment in a hospital.
