After being held captive by kidnappers in Abuja for 12 days, former presidential candidate Eniola Ojajuni has been released.
“I have been released,” Mr Olajuni said on Saturday while being driven in a car, a video of which was shared on X. “I was released in Ibilo, Edo State, this evening.”
He did not, however, provide any other information on his release.

In the general election of 2019, Mr. Ojajuni, the presidential candidate of the now-defunct Alliance Democracy (AD), was kidnapped in Abuja on February 17.
The victim was reportedly on his route to a meeting when he was arrested by robbers brandishing a gun at his head and demanding a N100 million ransom for making his video public.
Some friends, family, and associates had called for financial support for him while he was in the captivity of his abductors.

The situation forced Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun to order the immediate deployment of the Intelligence Response Team to secure Mr Ojajuni’s release.
