Security operatives in Kogi State have recorded a major feat in Olamaboro Local Government Area of the State as they killed a notorious Kidnap kingpin in a gun duel on Saturday.
The notorious kidnap gang leader was once reported to have kidnapped his own farther and collected a Ransom of four million naira.
The deceased criminal was known for his nefarious kidnapping and armed robbery activities.
Hence he had always been on the list of wanted criminal suspects by law enforcement agencies until his waterloo after he engaged security operatives in the area.
Also, it was reported that a combined operation led by Olamaboro Local Government Chairman, Hon. Adejoh Friday Nicodemus involving both teams from the neighborhood arrested another kidnap agent identified as Kizito Ocheme alias Igbo.
The culprit it was gathered has been behind most of the kidnapping and terrorists’ activities between Olamaboro Local government and Otukpa branch of Ogbadibo Local government of Benue State but was apprehended while trying to escape by the security operatives in the area.
The Local Government Chairman, stated that the efforts of Governor Yahaya Bello and the entire leadership of Kogi State Government to guarantee the safety of lives and properties of citizens was yielding positive results as criminals now find Kogi State as a no-go area.
He added that following the directives of governor Bello that people should have peace to be able to sleep with their two eyes closed, his administration has been on the prowl for criminals.
In his reaction, Governor Bello who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed indicated that is security can be resolved from the grassroots it would reflect positively on the state.
He pointed out that the moral support being given to security operatives by the State Government is responsible for the successes in bringing peace to the State.
He reiterated that Government at all levels would continue to put in more effort towards sustaining the drive for a peaceful Kogi state by making every nooks and cranny of the state unsafe for criminal elements and their sponsors.
