Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw is supporting Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan after she accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment.
Henshaw took to Instagram on Wednesday to express solidarity with Akpoti-Uduaghan, stating the struggles women face in society and leadership roles alongside Natasha’s photograph.
While celebrating Woman Crush Wednesday (WCW), she wrote
“We forget so readily how far we have come. We forget our lineage, our history, our strength. We are told we are weak, we are spineless, and cannot think… Women like children are to be seen not heard. Do you not know that in nearly all species, the female is much more deadly than the male? We are the offspring of countless women-warriors!!”

The drama began in February 2025 when Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan protested a sudden change in her Senate seat allocation.
On February 20, she openly resisted her reassigned seat, refusing to move despite directives from Akpabio and the Sergeant-at-Arms. The disagreement escalated into a heated confrontation.
“I don’t care if I am silenced, I am not afraid. You have denied me my privilege,” she declared during the session.

On December 8, 2023, she accused Akpabio of making unwanted advances toward her during a visit to his residence in Akwa Ibom State.
She alleged that rejecting him led to her being sidelined in the Senate. This included roadblocks to her motions on corruption investigations at the Ajaokuta Steel Company.
On March 1, 2025, Ekaette Akpabio, wife of the Senate President, filed two defamation lawsuits against Akpoti-Uduaghan at the Federal High Court in Abuja, demanding N350 billion in damages.
She claimed the allegations had caused emotional and psychological distress to her and her children.
Meanwhile, the Senate, through its spokesperson, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, clarified on March 4 that they could not launch an investigation without a formal petition from Akpoti-Uduaghan.
