Controversial media personality, Toke Makinwa has stated that women should not be too independent not to ask for help when the need arises.
According to her, there is nothing wrong with a woman depending on a man to pay her bills, emphasising that men who do not want such women should leave them for those who do.
Speaking in the latest episode of Toke Moments podcast, Makinwa said,
“You don’t need to lower your standard. There are over a billion people in this world. You can go and find somebody who has what you are looking for. Stop letting society dictate for you.

“If you say, ‘Oh, this girl is a money-hungry b*tch. All she wants is a man to pay her bills.’ If you can’t pay her bills, leave. There is another guy who that is what he is looking for.
“I feel like we make things harder than they are; fighting online with our opinions. If somebody is not what you are looking for, refuse the urge to start trying to pinpoint what is wrong with them because it is actually a reflection of you and not them.”
Toke Makinwa, says she has no regrets at 40, even though she is unmarried and childless.
In the recent episode of her podcast, “Toke Moments,” she stated that she would have been divorced again if she had remarried.
Toke married Maje Ayida, her longtime partner, in 2014. However, their union was short-lived due to infidelity allegations in 2015, leading to their divorce in 2017.
The media personality reflected on being 40, single, and childless while admitting that it once made her feel bad but no longer does.
She said she has learned to embrace reality and focus on achievements.
Makinwa added that if she had remarried, she would likely have gotten divorced again because the “lessons never stop”.
