Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage, says she is afraid to sign artists to her music label.
In an interview with Forbes Africa, Savage said she does not think she has the “gift” to sign upcoming musicians.
The 45-year-old singer also disclosed that it is a “stressful” task and she might be unable to control their actions.
However, she added that she would rather build a music school where upcoming singers could learn and later be signed by labels.
“Everyone always says to me, ‘when are you going to sign an artiste?’. I don’t think I have the gift to sign another artiste, because artistes are stressful. I could just be sleeping, and then I will wake up and my artist is trending for something else,” Tiwa said.
“But I do have the gift to help. Which is why I am trying to do the music school. There you can go and later sign to a label that can help you.’’
