Frank Edoho has opened up on multiple ways Mercy Chinwo was cheated while singing under the Eezee Tee music label.
Chinwo also stopped receiving show bookings from her ex-label after she refused to renew her contract.
Speaking in a recent interview on TVC, Edoho revealed more details about the financial dispute that led to the rift between the singer and Eezee Tee, her former label boss.
The TV host argued that Chinwo had not been receiving the full proceeds from her digital music distributions and royalties.
He said her team conducted an independent audit and found discrepancies in payments from distribution companies like AfriCori, Skiza, and Symphonic.
Edoho added that Chinwo refused to extend her contract when the label. This was after they proposed a 12-year renewal, after which the label allegedly stopped booking her for events.
“I spoke to her husband and he sat me down and we found out that some of her royalties were paid. Firstly, none of her songs are on her YouTube channel. They are on the label’s channel. She hasn’t seen the backend of it to know how much revenue was given,” Edoho said.
“I think Mercy’s husband now showed her proceeds to an artiste, that from one distribution company, this is what she made. The person told them that based on her numbers, her payment was a lie.
“So they did some findings, and asked those distribution companies to give them figures. Only one could, and that was AfriCori. AfriCori gave for the period from 2020 to 2023, I think. And the amount of money was like $800,000 and only 90 grand was given to her.

“No, not so because from the $800,000, you have to pay the distribution company. What’s remaining is probably $600,000. I saw all the documents.
They got an audit company but the label wasn’t forthcoming and that was why they got the EFCC into the matter. The EFCC asked the label to pay her and that was when the propaganda started. They let him go and he even paid the money in two installments. But he’s still owing for that period and that’s from one company.
Towards the end of her contract, the label said they want to extend the contract for 12 years. But she said no. So the label stopped giving events. I saw all these things.
nobody standing for her because she’s a big star and people feel she’s the one abusing power. I stepped into the matter because they’re my friends. I saw all the facts and it is not in tandem with what the speculations are.
Mercy’s album is on Qatar Airlines, and according to her, she hasn’t been paid publishing. From inception. The label hasn’t paid her, based on publishing.”
Eezee Tee, the founder of Eezee Conceptz, was arraigned over alleged money laundering and dishonest conversion.
He is accused of laundering $340,000 and dishonestly converting funds from Chinwo’s digital platforms and events.
Chinwo also accused him of secretly replacing the original contract she signed in 2017 with a different one without her consent.
In his response, the music executive described the gospel singer’s claims as “lies from the pit of hell”.
Alexander Owoeye, a judge of the federal high court in Lagos, recently adjourned Eezee Tee’s arraignment to May 14.
