Afrobeats star Davido has explained that he named his upcoming album “5ive”. This album is also the singer’s fifth studio album.
He made this known during a live stream on Twitch while speaking with music creator Cruel Santino.
“It’s my fifth album, so I just called it 5ive. No deep meaning like that, but if you look into the number 5, you can find deeper meanings.”
The album follows “A Good Time”, “A Better Time”, and the record-breaking “Timeless”. Davido said while “5ive” doesn’t carry any deep message, people who study the number might find extra meaning.
Ahead of the album, Davido released three singles, “Awuke” featuring YG Marley, “Funds” with Chike and Odumodublvck, and “Be There Still”, which dropped on March 14. The last track blends Amapiano sounds with English and pidgin lyrics.
