Popular Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has recounted how her children saved her when she was neck deep in depression.
Speaking in an interview with Teju Babyface, the actress praised her children for stepping in when it mattered most, describing them as “the pillars of my life.”
She said: “Let me say that there was a time I was depressed, and I was taking antidepressants. But my children had to wean me off them. They have always been my number one critic.
“I don’t know if I could call them my pillars of life. They know that I would live my life for them. So, they tell me, ‘Hey, Iya, you have been living your life for us, but it is now time to live for yourself. Enjoy yourself and have fun’.”

The actress later disclosed that she had undergone gallbladder removal surgery and was in recovery.
But in an Instagram post celebrating Valentine’s Day, Omotola Jalade reflected on how her surgery left her with scars but did not shake her confidence.

The 46-years-old actress said she felt self-conscious during a photo session because “my tummy is no longer perfect”.
