Nigerian singer Ayra Starr and veteran actor Richard Mofe-Damijo have joined the star-studded cast of Tomi Adeyemi’s bestselling novel, “Children of Blood and Bone”
Ayra Starr and Richard Mofe-Damijo recently joined the cast of the much-anticipated film adaptation as the latest names confirmed for the production.
Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, the fantasy epic features an ensemble cast led by Thuso Mbedu as Zélie, Tosin Cole as Tzain, Amandla Stenberg as Princess Amari, and Damson Idris as Prince Inan.

Other prominent stars set to appear in the film include Chiwetel Ejiofor, Regina King, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo, and Lashana Lynch.
Set in the mythical kingdom of Orïsha, Children of Blood and Bone follows the journey of Zélie, a young warrior determined to restore magic to her people after a ruthless king’s oppression.
Filming is set to take place in South Africa, with the movie expected to hit theatres in early 2027.
Meanwhile, famous Nigerian actress, Omoni Oboli, has dragged Ghanaian TV stations for airing her movies without the necessary licenses.
The actress called out the Ghanaian local television stations in a post on her Instagram page on Saturday evening.
She also berated the Ghana National Film Authority for “failing to take decisive action against such unauthorized acts.”
While questioning the authority’s effectiveness, Omoni Oboli threatened to take legal action against the offending TV stations.
Oboli emphasized the effort and dedication that go into producing her films.

“I love my Ghanaian besties, colleagues, and friends, but you see those TV stations in Ghana, I’m coming for you! The guts to show my movies without licensing! If dem no arrest one of una, you won’t learn! Watch out! Coming for every one of you!
