Isoko National Youth Council (INYC) has commended the Executive Vice President (Upstream), Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, Mr Tombomieye Adokiye, for his effort in securing the peace in the Niger Delta region.
The group in statement issued and signed by Mr Matthew Edugbo in Ozoro, Isoko North Local Area, of Delta State, cleared the air on their earlier accusation of Adokiye as being behind the marginalization of Isoko Nation in the pipeline surveillance contract.
According to them, that position was built on the ground of limited information. “Adokiye has since our struggle shown interest even during his meetings with us.”
“Since we kicked off this new emancipation movement, we shall not relent as we have resolved to channel our grievances to the political players who are neck deep in marginalizing the Isoko nation.”
“We call on the National Security Adviser (NSA) Babagana Monguno and the Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari to resolve the cry of the Isoko Nation to avoid any form of ethnic clash and social unrest in the Niger Delta Region.”
“We wish to state emphatically, that Adokiye is a pillar of stability in the Niger Delta region as far the Petroleum Sector is concerned and we hope sincerely that his wealth of experience will come to play in looking into our issues.” The statement read.
