The nine weeks old strike enbarked upon by the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has been suspended nationwide.
The suspension was announced after an emergency meeting of the of the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), which lasted from Sunday evening to early Monday morning
Some members of the association supported the suspension of the industrial action.
It was gathered that 56 officials voted for the suspension of the industrial action, against 28 who wanted the strike to continue.
It would be recalled that the resident doctors down tooled on August 2 to protest several issues that are affecting them.
These include the non-payment of death benefits to families of members who died while treating COVID-19 patients, as well as non-payment of hazard allowance and arrears of salaries of members in various states.
