One of Africa’s top cement producers, BUA Cement has given N35 million worth of medical supplies to 16 host villages in Sokoto State’s Wamakko Local Government Area as part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities initiatives.
The Director of Administration and Corporate Services, Sada Suleiman, on behalf of BUA Cement’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Yusuf Binji, emphasised the company’s dedication to guaranteeing that hospitals and clinics in its host communities have access to necessary pharmaceuticals during the formal handover ceremony on Tuesday.
Binji reaffirmed BUA Cement’s commitment to the welfare of local communities by highlighting that this contribution is an annual activity. He also emphasised the company’s more extensive CSR initiatives, which include building mosques to aid in community development, offering drinkable water, and offering scholarship program

“This initiative is our way of giving back to the communities that have continuously supported us,” Binji stated.
Additionally, he announced the completion of seven solar-powered boreholes across the state, which are set for commissioning soon. Furthermore, BUA Cement has provided full school uniforms to pupils in five primary schools within its host communities.
Binji expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmed Aliyu for their support and assured that BUA Cement would continue working alongside the state government to improve the lives of residents. He also emphasised that the donated medications are to be distributed free of charge, particularly benefiting women and children, and should not be sold under any circumstances.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of Wamakko Local Government, Alhaji Umaru Ahmad, represented by the Director of Health Services, Umar Sani Tureta—commended BUA Cement for its generosity.
He urged other companies operating in Sokoto State to follow BUA Cement’s example by investing in community development.
Ahmad assured the company that the medical supplies would be properly distributed to ensure they reach those in need.
