It was a gory sight Wednesday at Eziama-Uli Health Centre Ihiala local government area of Anambra state when daredevil unknown gunmen stormed venue of the medical outreach programme organised by Uli Global Ambassadors for Development Initiative (UlIGADI) shooting sporadically while patients who came for the exercise and the administrators scampered for safety.
Eye witness account of the ugly incident had it that a band of unidentified terrorists attacked the venue of the free medical outreach organized by the Uli Global Ambassadors for Development Initiative (ULIGADI).
The witness who didn’t want his name in print told The Union Nigeria during the unfortunate incident, the perpetrators killed a police officer.
He said, “I don’t have much to say at the moment but I will discuss with the chairman to advise the house.
One officer died after the unfortunate incident. The second officer is at the hospital receiving medical attention.
I have spoken to him. I have my people with him. We are looking for the third officer who has since left Eziama. The recovery teams are underway to rescue him from the community.”
When contacted on the phone as at the time of writing this story to ascertain whether the police command has received any official report of the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer DSP Ikenga Tochukwu declined response to several calls from the reporter.
